BESTSECRET came to TAKE with a challenging brief: they wanted to execute a single day production, capturing both video and photography across six different sportswear categories. We quickly got to work, finding multiple beautiful settings in and around Barcelona, while also leading on the casting of two multi-sport models to cover the exacting requirements of the project.

BESTSECRET is an exclusive member-only platform offering luxury and designer brands at significant discounts. The client wanted to show the range of sportswear available. Some six sports would be presented in the final assets: swimming, running, cycling. yoga, hiking and general fitness. With the available budget necessitating a single day shoot, scouting a suitable city with both breathtaking urban vistas and nearby natural beauty to situate presented a real challenge.

We put forward a range of options across Europe, eventually alighting on Barcelona; the Catalunyan city’s legacy as the host of the 1992 Summer Olympics provided top of the range sporting infrastructure, while the mountainous nature of the cityscape provided bountiful spots to capture the more adventurous outdoors activities. Our final locations were all within a 15 minute drive of each other, and would include the iconic Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc, the diving pool which became synonymous with the 1992 games.

Finding models which could cover such a wide array of athletic pursuits realistically required meticulous casting. We called upon our close working relationship with leading UK-based agency W Models, to find truly multidisciplinary specialist sports models to fulfill the client’s needs. Working with local production assistants to help support our artists, before using our post-production experts to produce a varied and extensive suite of assets that perfectly balanced the luxury feel of the brand’s on BESTSECRET’s platform, with a genuine sense of movement and activity.
