Sophie Hemels is a 27-year-old self-taught photographer based in Amsterdam/Berlin, formerly known under her pseudonym Francis Morris Morrison. After graduating from the Dutch National Ballet Academy in 2012 she decided to find a life. She explored outskirts of the world to seek adventure, accompanied with her dad’s old camera. Since 2013 she’s been shooting artists, cool kids and everything that moves on a skate or surfboard with her duct-taped Nikon Fm2. Over the years her style has grown up – and is growing up still – with her. Exploring film and moving images lately and broadening her visual style. Sophie shoots a world she would like to live in, creating colorful, unique, honest images where love rules and the fun never ends. Finding her models on the street or on Instagram, she has a unique way of portraying people in an authentic way, always seeking their lust for life.
